A Documentary Project by Laurane Fréour and Lorenzo Pengue
Between October 2026 and February 2027, I will direct The Darkest Sky documentary.
Through a 5,000km bike journey from the Atacama Desert to Patagonia, we will go in search of the darkest skies, to advocate for the protection of night sky, increasingly threatened by light pollution and satellite mega-constellations.
On our way, we will meet communities, astronomers and individual deeply connected to the night sky. Gathered around campfires under the starry sky, we will look up and let that vastness bring forth questions, emotions, and a profound sense of connection to something greater than ourselves.
